The Committee on Judicial Policy declared the draft law on amendments to the Family Code of Ukraine re mandatory duty to keep a child by persons deprived of parental rights as corresponding to the Constitution of Ukraine

The bill (Reg. No. 2548) aims at strengthening responsibility of persons for implementing their parental rights and promoting financial maintenance of a child.

It is suggested to amend articles 166 and 192 of the Family Code.

Committee members believe that it would be expedient to adjust the statutory provision regarding taking the decision by the court to transfer alimony to the State Budget with part two of article 186 and part three of article 193 of the Family Code.
